LIVE - Three Wise Monkeys

See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil, Do No Evil

Mizaru, covering his eyes, who sees no evil; Kikazaru, covering his ears, who hears no evil; and Iwazaru, covering his mouth, who speaks no evil. Sometimes there is a fourth monkey depicted with the three others; the last one, Shizaru, symbolizes the principle of "do no evil". He may be shown crossing his arms.

There are various meanings ascribed to the monkeys and the proverb including associations with being of good mind, speech and action. In the Western world the phrase is often used to refer to those who deal with impropriety by looking the other way, refusing to acknowledge it, or feigning ignorance.

It seems to me that too many people are looking the other way while our country disintegrates. Just recently in the news I have been horrified by the things people do to each other; hit and drag taxi victim, Sunday Rapist's rape and murder of Louise De Waal, Terre'Blanche trial, satanic rituals, drunk driver who hit 6 runners, terminally ill patient who was held down and raped by her nurses. It really is a crying shame - just call me HORRIFIED by Evil!
